From Peter Sellars to SIGN*A*RAMA, Local Arts Professional Opens Franchise in Los Angeles, CA
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - June 20, 2007) - SIGN*A*RAMA, the world's largest sign franchise, has a new store at 12209 Santa Monica Blvd., under the ownership of local resident Kevin Higa.
Higa is a graduate of UCLA's Department of World Arts and Cultures and worked for 15 years in the non-profit performing arts, primarily with award-winning theater and opera director Peter Sellars, before becoming a SIGN*A*RAMA franchisee.
"My entire professional career has been in the non-profit arts world," says Higa. "Now that I'm married, have a young daughter and a big mortgage, I need a vehicle for financial stability. SIGN*A*RAMA is a creative business and will allow me to utilize my skills and experiences from the arts. I will also be able to continue my connection to and support of many of my colleagues in the non-profit world. I want to do something positive for the world, and SIGN*A*RAMA is one more way for me to do that."
In addition to offering signage solutions to local businesses in the West Los Angeles/Santa Monica area, Higa hopes to continue his connection to the non-profit performing arts by specializing in banners, event signage and creative digital printing for local arts organizations and non-profit organizations, such as the Los Angeles Poverty Department, a theater group of homeless and formerly homeless individuals.
With more than 850 retail locations worldwide, SIGN*A*RAMA uses cutting-edge industry software programs to provide a full range of comprehensive sign and graphic services to both the private and commercial segments of the business community.
